With a strong reputation for their expertise in groundwork and construction services, our client is seeking a Senior Groundwork Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team.


Position Overview:

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Groundwork Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in the management and oversight of their construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately assessing project costs, managing budgets, and ensuring that all financial aspects of our client's projects are effectively controlled. This role requires a strong understanding of groundwork and construction practices, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to financial targets and reporting regularly on budget status.

  • Procurement: Coordinate procurement activities, including sourcing and negotiating with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Contract Management: Review and administer contracts, ensuring that they are in compliance with project requirements and company policies.

  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs and implement strategies to control expenses and mitigate risks.

  • Variation Management: Assess and manage variations to the project scope, including preparing and negotiating change orders.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate project records, including cost reports, payment applications, and other financial documents.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure financial objectives are met.

  • Quality Assurance: Participate in quality control processes to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards.

  • Reporting: Provide regular financial reports and updates to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field (Preferred, experience more essential)

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in groundwork and construction projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in cost estimation and budget management.

  • Familiarity with construction contracts and procurement processes.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of relevant software tools (e.g., Excel, construction cost estimating software).
